Unique Boutique Hotels in Menorca

Updated January 2026 – Discover my favorite and the most beautiful 12 boutique hotels in Menorca, from beautiful seaside stays to countryside fincas surrounded by olive trees!

I live in Mallorca most of the year, although I’m originally from Madrid, and I absolutely love exploring all the Balearic Islands whenever I can.

Menorca, especially in summer, has a special charm with its lively atmosphere, traditional feasts, and endless fun by the sea. It’s the perfect mix of Spanish authenticity and summer relaxation. There’s quite a lot of people, because spaniards also go on vacation in summer, but it is fun!

Getting to and Around Menorca, Spain

How to get to Menorca, Spain

✈️ The easiest way to reach Menorca is by plane. Menorca’s main airport, Menorca Airport, is well-connected to various European cities, especially during the summer months. I usually fly with  Iberia Express, Vueling, and Iberia, they offer great deals and frequent flights from mainland Spain and major European cities.

⛴️ If you prefer a more scenic route, you can also reach Menorca by ferry from Barcelona or Valencia. The journey takes about 6–8 hours, so it’s a longer ride, but it’s a unique experience, especially if you’re traveling with your own car. The Balearia ferry service is fantastic, and I’ve used it many times for a relaxing, comfortable trip across the Mediterranean.

Renting a Car in Menorca

🚗 Renting a car is the best if you want to explore at your own pace when staying at one of the best boutique hotels in Menorca, especially the charming mountain villages and secluded coves. I did this on my last trip and loved the freedom!

Empathy and sympathy towards our guests. To indulge the visitor, the traveller, the nomade (digital or not) or the tourist sensitive to new experiences, driven by the curiosity and the search of what’s authentic.

We are not here to reinvent the wheel but to re-address some standards, since in Ses Sucreres. And with their same values as a Biosphere reserve hotel: bio products, a sustainable model of energy and the activity of our local community.

An inspiring and fresh place with an evident architectural beauty to which we associate a vintage and eclectic decoration to make singular the «false-order-of-things» as well as to harmonize the original and contemporary elements with another look. Hevresac space, where the spontaneity and encounters may be source of creativity and, therefore, Art.

9. Ses Sucreres Small & Slow Hotel

‘A long time ago the kids of Ferreries used to buy their sweets at the village grocery shop: Ca Ses Sucreres. In 2009 we had our eureka moment and transformed this place into a small atypical hotel.

A new contemporary architectural project, undoubtedly daring in a rural environment; a balance between authenticity and modernity, between tradition and innovation, thanks to which Ses Sucreres has doubled its capacity.

More conviviality also stemmimg from the new common spaces indoors, outdours and a green and blue nugget: the small garden and the restful and refreshing pond.’

Best Time to Visit Menorca, Spain

The best time to visit Menorca is from late May to the end of October. During this period, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for enjoying the island’s beautiful beaches and outdoor activities. Here’s a breakdown:

  1. Late May to June: The weather is pleasantly warm, and the island is less crowded. It’s an excellent time for exploring the natural beauty, hiking, and enjoying the beaches without the peak-season crowds.
  2. July to August: This is the peak tourist season with the hottest weather, perfect for beach days and water activities. However, it’s also the busiest time, with more tourists and higher prices.
  3. September to mid October: The weather is still warm, but the crowds start to thin out. This period offers a great balance of pleasant temperatures and a more relaxed atmosphere.

If you prefer fewer tourists and more affordable accommodations, late May to June or September to early October are ideal times to visit. My personal favorite months in the Balearic islands are June and September!

Best eSim in Spain

As we are Spanish and live between Madrid and Palma de Mallorca most of the year, we don’t need an eSim here, but when we travel we always use this eSIM because it’s the cheapest and easiest option.

Traveling around Spain and Final Thoughts

While the Balearic islands offer some of the most beautiful sceneries in Spain (my favorites for sure) and delicious local food, it’s just one of many captivating places in Spain worth exploring.

From the stunning nature of Cantabria (Northern Spain) and the rich history of Seville to the artistic treasures of Madrid and the elegant beauty of Barcelona, each place boasts its own unique charm. Traveling around Spain allows you to experience the diverse landscapes, flavors, and traditions that make my country so special!
