Looking for the best family villas in Bali? Whether you're dreaming of a beachfront escape, a jungle retreat, a luxurious hideaway, or a beautiful stay that fits your budget, I’ve gathered my absolute favorite family villas in Bali — specially curated for nature and design lovers, just like me and my family!
We’ve just returned from nearly two magical months in Bali, and during that time, we stayed in some truly unforgettable places that I really want to share with you all!
While we were staying in Ubud, we took a weekend trip to Sidemen—and it was unforgettable. We stayed in one of the most stunning bamboo villas in Bali, completely surrounded by rice fields. Waking up to birdsong, sipping Balinese coffee on the open-air terrace, and watching the sky turn gold over the valley felt like stepping into paradise.
The villa, made entirely of bamboo with panoramic views, was pure magic. It’s one of the few 1-bedroom villas in Bali I’ve included in this list because it was just too special not to share!!
That’s the beauty of staying in a family villa in Bali—you get the privacy, the space, and the feeling of truly being immersed in nature or the island’s vibrant culture. Continue reading for the best family villas Bali has to offer, covering the island’s most stunning locations!
For me, finding a stay that feels special is essential. I’m drawn to thoughtful design, spaces that tell a story, and hotels or villas that make you feel something. Some of these villas felt like living inside a piece of art — places where the architecture flows with nature, and you can sense the love poured into their creation.
I hope this list helps you find your perfect family villa in Bali — one that inspires you and leaves you with memories for a lifetime. Keep reading!

Getting to and Around Bali
How to get to Bali
1. Fly to Bali (Ngurah Rai International Airport – DPS)
Bali's main airport is Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), also known as Denpasar Airport. It’s located near Kuta, about 30-60 minutes from popular areas like Canggu, Ubud, and Uluwatu. Every time we have visited we have flown Qatar Airways Economy and it is always a good experience. Sometimes we combine it with Iberia Airlines,, from Madrid to Doha. This is why we offer our readers 5% off on all Qatar Airways flights! This is awesome! Plus you can't miss this blog post about where to stay 1 day in Doha, Qatar, if you have a long stopover like we sometimes do. If your stopover is in Singapore, then check out this blog post about the most unique hotels in Singapore.
2. Getting from the Airport to your Villa
Private Driver: Usually best for comfort, ~$15-30 USD depending on location.
We normally hire a trusted driver and he is really nice! For example, the price is usually 300-350K if you are going to Canggu. Contact him on whatsApp: Nengah Jana +62 857-3908-6409. He can also take you on day trips around the island.
Ride-Share Apps: Grab or Gojek – cheaper but may have pickup restrictions. While ride-hailing apps like Grab and Gojek are widely used in Bali, they’re not always welcome at the airport. You may need to walk to the designated pickup area outside. For example, a Grab car to Canggu costs around IDR 200K–300K ($12–$18) at time of writing.
Airport Taxi: Fixed rates but usually more expensive and a little overwhelming.
No matter how you get to your villa, be prepared for Bali’s unpredictable traffic, especially in the afternoons and around sunset. Once you arrive, you’ll quickly see why this island and its vibe is worth the journey!
3. Getting around in Bali
If you’re planning to explore different parts of the island or moving from one villa to another, we really recommend hiring a private driver.
We always go with this trusted driver, Nengah Jana—he’s super kind and reliable! It was recommended to us by good friends. You can message him on WhatsApp: +62 857-3908-6409. He also does full-day trips around the island (usually around 700K IDR) and knows all the best scenic routes and photo spots.
This is not a collaboration or affiliate—just a genuine recommendation of someone we ask for help when we are in Bali. We know the transport options in Bali are plenty, and sometimes overwhelming, so we hope this helps make it a little easier.
When we’re just getting around locally—like heading to a café or the beach—we usually use Grab. It’s affordable, easy, and works well for short rides.

Other Things to Know before visiting Bali
𑁍 Best Things to Do in Bali:
Bali offers a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. From surfing the waves in Canggu to exploring the lush rice terraces in Ubud, there’s something for everyone.
You can visit sacred temples like Tanah Lot, hike up Mount Batur for a sunrise view, or relax on the beaches of Uluwatu. Whether you’re into yoga, cultural experiences, or simply soaking up the beauty of nature, Bali is a destination that leaves you feeling inspired. Here our favorite things to do in Bali:
𑁍 Where to Eat Good Local Food in Bali:
Bali is a foodie’s paradise, offering everything from healthy cafés to indulgent dining experiences. Start your day with a nourishing breakfast at Touché or Milk & Madu, both known for their delicious coffee and fresh pastries.
For a unique brunch, Brunch Club Bali serves up legendary pancakes, while Bambu Fitness Bali has some of the best overnight oats on the island. If you're craving local flavors, Warung Sika and Warung Local offer authentic Indonesian dishes, while HoiAn by Mevui brings a taste of Vietnam to Bali.
For a one-of-a-kind dining experience, Koral Bali is an underwater luxury restaurant that’s truly unforgettable. When it’s time to unwind, head to El Kabron Bali beach club for stunning ocean views, cocktails, and Spanish-inspired bites.
And for a plant-based feast, The Shady Shack in Canggu serves creative, colorful vegetarian dishes in a lush garden setting. Son of a Baker is another favorite of mine with nourishing food. No matter your craving, Bali’s food scene is as vibrant as the island itself!

𑁍 Best Time of year to Visit Bali:
The best time to visit Bali is during the dry season, which runs from April to October. These months offer sunny days, low humidity, and perfect conditions for exploring beaches, rice terraces, and temples. July and August are the most popular (and busiest) months due to summer holidays, while May, June, and September provide great weather with fewer crowds.
The wet season (November to March) brings tropical rains, but Bali remains warm and lush—ideal if you prefer a quieter, more affordable trip. Surfers often visit year-round, with the best waves on the west coast during the dry season and the east coast during the wet season.
