Jaipur completely stole our hearts! We visited in December and couldn’t have asked for better weather: sunny days, cool mornings, and the perfect excuse to be out exploring from dawn to dusk.

We stayed in a mix of beautiful hotels, check them out below, each with its own character, and one of the most memorable moments of the trip was being invited to visit our driver’s family, a humbling and genuinely special experience that gave us a glimpse into everyday life beyond the tourist trail.

As always, we explored the city the way we love most: on foot. We joined guided walking tours and wandered around as much as we could, getting lost in colorful markets, picking up delicate bracelets as souvenirs, and sampling incredible local food at every opportunity.

Jaipur is a city made for walking and tuk tuks! It is loud, vibrant, chaotic, and endlessly fascinating and we loved every step of it!

Getting Around Jaipur

Jaipur is a city that truly comes alive when you explore it at street level. Walking was our favorite way to get around, especially in the historic center. Wandering through bustling markets, narrow lanes, and lively squares lets you soak up the colors, sounds, and daily rhythms of the city in a way no car ever could. We also joined guided walking tours, which were a fantastic way to understand the history, architecture, and hidden corners you’d otherwise walk straight past. If, like us, you love exploring by foot, Jaipur is endlessly rewarding, just take it slow and enjoy the chaos.

That said, Jaipur is also big, busy, and sometimes intense, so private transfers were a game-changer. For longer distances, hotel hops between the best boutique hotels in Jaipur, or when the heat (or traffic) got a bit much, having a trusted driver made everything smoother and stress-free.

47 Jobner Bagh is one of those places that feels more like a home than a hotel, and easily one of our favourite boutique hotels in Jaipur. We stayed here and completely fell in love! Shiva, the owner, and his daughter make you feel genuinely welcomed, like you’re staying with friends.

With just 12 beautifully styled rooms filled with antiques, flowers everywhere, and peaceful courtyards, it’s a true oasis in the middle of chaotic Jaipur. The food was delicious too. Once you’re there, you really don’t want to leave!

I love family-run hotels and always try to include them in my lists, and Dileep Kothi is exactly why. The owners are around every day and are incredibly warm and welcoming, which gives the place such a personal, relaxed feel. I also loved that it’s set in a residential suburb, so you get a glimpse of everyday life in Jaipur while still being an easy drive from all the main sights.

The rooms are spacious, spotless, and beautifully done with that perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comfort, and breakfast is excellent. One of the top boutique hotels in Jaipur that I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting!

RAAS Rajmahal Palace is honestly something special. It’s a former royal palace turned into a luxury boutique hotel, and you really feel it from the moment you arrive. The property is absolutely stunning, the rooms are jaw-dropping, and the service is some of the best you will experience in India (and maybe the world): warm, polished, and incredibly attentive without ever feeling stiff.

Food is outstanding (the breakfast alone is worth it), the grounds feel like a dream with peacocks, jasmine, and quiet corners everywhere, and somehow it still feels intimate with so few rooms. It’s one of those luxury boutique hotels in Jaiupur you’ll think about long after you leave and probably plan a return trip around!

Abode Jaipur is one of those boutique hotels in Jaipur that feels like a little slice of heaven right in the middle of the Old City chaos. Everything is beautifully designed and so thoughtfully done: from the insanely comfortable bed and linen, to the huge copper bathtub with rose-scented bath salts that made evenings feel extra special.

Despite being right in the action, it’s surprisingly quiet. Plus, I love the hotel’s ethos too: supporting local artisans, zero plastic, pottery water bottles, and sweet personal touches like a hand-drawn city map and adorable towel animals. Warm, caring staff, and a great location!

Niravi Jaipur is honestly one of the most special boutique hotels in Jaipur. It feels like a calm, leafy oasis set away from the chaos, with a gorgeous garden, pool, peacocks wandering around, and the warmest, kindest team who genuinely look after you. The rooms are beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, the food is excellent (don’t miss breakfast or a rose lassi), and the whole place just feels so calm. Peaceful, elegant, and incredibly welcoming, I can only recommend!

Anopura Jaipur is one of those places where you instantly feel yourself exhale. It’s set in nature, far from the city buzz, and feels more like staying at a beautiful private home than a hotel. There are only a handful of rooms, so it’s wonderfully quiet, the kind of place where days revolve around slow mornings, great food, swims, and just being outside. The rooms are spacious and thoughtful without feeling fussy, the meals are fresh and seriously good, and the service is warm and personal in a very natural way. If you’re craving calm, privacy, and a proper reset near Jaipur, this place really delivers!

28 Kothi is a cute boutique hotel in Jaipur that feels more like staying at a homely guesthouse. It feels calm and beautiful the second you walk in, with thoughtful design, gorgeous rooms, and a real sense of soul behind it. The vibe is relaxed but still polished, the food is really good (the thali is a must!), and all the little details — fresh flowers, dreamy scents, design books everywhere — make it feel special without ever trying too hard.

What really makes it stand out though is the team: warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely, especially Raadiya, who makes you feel more like a friend than a guest. It’s peaceful, personal, and the kind of place you’ll already be planning to return to before you leave Jaipur!

It’s set inside a restored old mansion by the Gem Palace family, and you can really feel that mix of heritage and great taste everywhere you look: colourful rooms, beautiful details, and lots of personality.

There’s a lovely vegetarian restaurant, a jungle-vibe bar just for guests, and a rooftop terrace that’s perfect for a drink while looking out over the city. Even though it’s right in the centre, it feels calm and the staff are honestly so friendly and helpful. They accept kids over 5 too. One of those places you’re genuinely sad to leave and that I can only recommend in Jaipur.

Le Fort Homestay is such a lovely surprise and easily one of those homely boutique hotels in Jaipur that feels more like staying with friends than at a hotel. It has a gorgeous rooftop garden that honestly feels like a little oasis after a busy day in the city. The hosts (a family) are very nice: warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful.

The rooms are simple but cozy, the food we liked the most here was breakfast, and the whole place has that relaxed, homely vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Bonus tip: Peacock Restaurant is just two minutes away and perfect for lunch or dinner. We ate really well here!

It feels like staying in a royal palace wrapped in gardens, with peacocks wandering around and the most beautiful pool and grounds. The rooms are huge, elegant, and incredibly comfortable, and if you can, a pool villa is 100% worth it.

What really makes it unforgettable though is the Oberoi hospitality: the staff don’t just meet expectations, they quietly surprise you in the best way. It’s one of those stays you keep comparing everything else to, and yes… I’d recommend it in a heartbeat. It is not the typical boutique hotel, but it’s a classic in India you can’t miss!

Padmaa Jaipur feels like staying in a very rich friend’s beautiful family home in the middle of the Pink City. It’s in the old city, but once you’re inside, it’s calm, elegant, and full of design: the kind of place where every corner has a story. The staff are incredibly warm and thoughtful, the food is genuinely great (we went there for lunch once because I wanted to visit the hotel and I’m still thinking about the masala chai), and the bar is such a nice place to end the day!

I also loved the little touches and how easy they make getting in and out with tuk-tuks. It’s one of those places that feels personal and special, not just another hotel. The rooftop is lovely too! Stay here if you want to stay right in the city center 🙂

We visited Ranthambore in December, stayed over for a couple of nights and had a magical experience! Highly recommended!! If you prefer to stay for one or two nights I highly recommend this hotel, where we stayed :).

Learn to cook traditional Indian dishes with a local family in Jaipur. Make round chapatis breads and a vegetable curry by yourself, and enjoy a traditional Indian drink and a dessert with your meal.

Best Time to Visit Jaipur

If a friend asked me, I’d say go to Jaipur between October and March: that’s when the weather is actually enjoyable and you can wander around forts, palaces, and markets without melting.

Winter months (November to February especially) are the sweet spot: sunny days, cool mornings and evenings, and lots of festivals like the Jaipur Literature Festival and kite flying in January. March is still great if you don’t mind a little warmth and want to catch Holi vibes.

I’d avoid April to June unless you’re okay with serious heat in exchange for cheaper hotels and fewer crowds, and July to September is a mixed bag: greener, quieter, kind of romantic with the monsoon clouds, but humid.

If comfort matters most, stick to winter; if you like off-season travel and deals, shoulder months can still be fun.
