As a Spanish traveler from Madrid who spends most of the year in Mallorca and sails around all the Balearic Islands every summer, I’ve come to know Ibiza beyond the usual tourist spots. In this Ibiza itinerary, I’ll share how to explore the island in just 3 days — from the must-sees and charming villages to my favorite sunset spots and beach clubs. Whether it’s your first visit or you're looking for a more local perspective, my guide will help you experience the best of Ibiza in a weekend.

Getting to and Around Ibiza, Spain
How to get to Ibiza
The most common way to get to Ibiza is to fly into Ibiza Airport, then take a taxi (about 20 minutes) or bus (Line 10) to Ibiza Town, if you are staying there. I usually fly to Ibiza with Iberia Express, Vueling, Volotea and Iberia — they offer great deals and frequent flights from mainland Spain and major European cities.
⛴️ You can also get to Ibiza by ferry from cities like Barcelona or Valencia. It’s a longer journey (around 6–8 hours), but it can be a fun experience — especially if you're bringing your own car or just want to enjoy the scenic ride across the Mediterranean. I usually take the ferry with Balearia! They work very well.
Getting Around and Renting a Car in Ibiza
Once you land, you’ve got two main options for getting around:
🚗 Renting a car is the best if you want to explore Ibiza at your own pace, especially the charming villages and secluded coves. I usually do this when I visit by land and love the freedom!

🚌 Public buses are also a good option — they connect Ibiza town with most major towns and beaches, and they’re very budget-friendly. Perfect if you’re staying put in one area or don’t feel like driving, which then I would suggest staying in Ibiza town!

Day 1 in Ibiza: Arrival and Ses Salines (Half Day)

Upon arrival in Ibiza, pick up your rental car at the airport to explore the island freely. Drive to your favorite UNIQUE HOTEL IN IBIZA from our hand-picked list, whether it’s a boutique hotel, luxury resort, or a charming villa. Take some time to settle in and prepare for your first beach day.
Begin your Ibiza adventure at Playa de Ses Salines, renowned for its soft white sands, turquoise waters, and lively atmosphere. Located in a protected natural park, the beach is surrounded by dunes and salt flats, offering stunning scenery.
After soaking up the sun, treat yourself to fresh fish and Mediterranean cuisine at Club Jockey Salines, a beachside restaurant offering delicious food with a stylish ambiance. Pair your meal with a cocktail as you take in the beautiful sunset vibes.
Wrap up the first day of your 3 days in Ibiza with a stroll along the shore or simply relax and enjoy the laid-back beach vibes!
🌙 Evening:
As the day winds down, make your way to Ibiza Old Town (Dalt Vila), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the island’s most enchanting areas. Wander through its labyrinth of cobblestone streets lined with whitewashed buildings, charming boutiques, and local cafes. The elevated location offers breathtaking views of the harbor and city lights, making it perfect for a scenic stroll. Make sure you walk to the top!
For dinner, enjoy one of my favorite restaurants at Ibiza Old Town: La Brasa de Ibiza, a beloved local restaurant known for its romantic garden setting and menu featuring traditional Ibicencan dishes, fresh seafood, and Mediterranean flavors. Try the grilled meats or paella for a hearty meal that captures the island's essence. I love all their paellas and fish!
After dinner, take a walk along the ancient walls or relax at a cozy bar with a glass of sangria or local wine, soaking up the magical evening ambiance of Dalt Vila. I love walking after dinner!

Day 2: Cala Comte, Sa Caleta, Es Vedrà and Cala Jondal
🌅 Morning:
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at a local café in Ibiza Town, where you can enjoy fresh pastries, local jam, and a cup of rich Spanish coffee. Opt for a place like Cappuccino Marina, offering beautiful waterfront views!
After breakfast, head to Cala Comte, one of my favorite turquoise waters and golden sands in the whole island. Spend the morning sunbathing, swimming, or simply taking in the stunning views of small islands dotting the horizon. Cala Comte is also a great spot for snorkeling due to its clear waters and rocky coves.
🌞 Afternoon:
Take a short drive to the ancient ruins at Sa Caleta, a Phoenician settlement dating back to 650 BC. These ruins are a fascinating glimpse into Ibiza’s history and are set amidst picturesque cliffs.
Afterward, visit Es Vedrà, the iconic limestone islet shrouded in mystery and legend. Find a viewpoint (such as Torre des Savinar) to admire its dramatic silhouette against the sea. Es Vedrà is a peaceful spot for photography (perfect for your Instagram pictures!), meditation, or simply taking in the natural beauty.
🌙 Evening:
Wrap up your day at Blue Marlin Ibiza, the beach club in Cala Jondal we always visit when looking for a fancy place to bring friends for a drink. This hotspot is perfect to enjoy a cocktail in hand as you watch the spectacular sunset over the Mediterranean. Many evenings Blue Marlin has live music and you can also order exquisite dishes to end your evening on a high note.
Capture the moment with a sunset photo and join in the relaxed celebration of Ibiza’s vibrant nightlife before heading back to your accommodation.
🌟 Night:
Consider heading to Es Canar for a visit to the Hippy Market if it aligns with your travel dates. This iconic market offers a mix of handmade crafts, boho fashion, and live music, perfect to experience in Ibiza’s unique culture. Note that the market typically operates on specific days, so checking its schedule in advance is essential.
Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing evening at a beachfront bar with live music. Look for venues like Chirincana Beach Bar, near Es Canar, or Kumharas, on the west coast, which offers an eclectic vibe and stunning sunset views.
Day 3: Ibiza Town, Cala d'Hort and Departure
🌅 Morning:
Begin your day with a relaxing yoga session at a wellness center in Ibiza Town, such as Atzaro Spa, which offers beautiful garden settings and holistic practices to rejuvenate your body and mind.
Afterward, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at a local café in Ibiza Town, like Croissant Show, known for its freshly baked pastries and vibrant atmosphere. Other places I like to visit for breakfast in Ibiza are Sa Calma and Hostal Parque with a lovely outdoor terrace.
🌞 Afternoon:
Head to Cala d’Hort, one of the island's most picturesque beaches. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the golden sands with breathtaking views of Es Vedrà!
If you're in the mood for exploration and like art, visit nearby art galleries that showcase the works of local and international artists, such as La Nave Salinas or Parra & Romero Gallery.
Alternatively, if you prefer moving your body and like hiking, take a hike in the surrounding area. The trails near Cala d’Hort offer stunning vistas of the coast, connecting you with the island’s natural beauty and serenity. I love to do this on a Sunday morning or afternoon.

If you have extra time in Ibiza, consider exploring some of my other favorite beaches in the island, I can't get enough of them:
1.Ses Salines: Part of the Ses Salines Natural Park, this beach is renowned for its soft white sands, clear waters, and lively beach clubs. It's surrounded by sand dunes and pine trees, offering a blend of natural beauty and vibrant social scene.
2. Cala Saladeta: A small, secluded cove known for its clear waters and golden sand. Accessed by a short walk from the larger Cala Salada, Cala Saladeta offers a more tranquil atmosphere with excellent swimming and snorkeling conditions.
3. Benirràs Beach: Surrounded by pine-clad hills, Benirràs Beach is famous for its Sunday drumming ritual at sunset, creating a unique and magical atmosphere. The beach features coarse sand and rocky outcrops, with calm waters ideal for snorkeling.
4. Cala d'Hort: Famous for its dramatic views of the mysterious Es Vedrà rock, this beach offers a mix of sandy and pebbly areas with clear blue waters. The scenery is particularly enchanting at sunset, with the silhouette of Es Vedrà adding to the beach's allure.
5. Cala Comte: Known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and spectacular sunsets, Cala Conta is often considered one of the most stunning beaches in Ibiza. The beach offers fine white sand and a backdrop of small islets, making it perfect for both relaxation and snorkeling.

𑁍 Local Tip 1: Venture beyond the popular beaches and uncover Ibiza’s secluded coves, locally known as "calas". These are my favorite less touristy ones:
Cala Llentrisca: Located near the village of Es Cubells, this quiet cove is perfect for snorkeling and swimming in clear waters.
Cala d'en Serra: Situated on the north coast, it offers a scenic blend of cliffs and crystal-clear waters, ideal for a relaxing day by the sea.
Cala Olivera: A small and peaceful cove accessible via a dirt track, where you can enjoy a more private beach experience. Pack a picnic and plenty of water, as these secluded spots often lack facilities. Arriving early in the morning ensures you can enjoy the beauty and calm before any other visitors arrive.
𑁍 Local Tip 2: Escape the tourist traps and immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting Ibiza’s traditional markets. These vibrant hubs are perfect for discovering unique handcrafted goods, fresh produce, and local delicacies while mingling with residents and soaking up the island’s authentic atmosphere.
Las Dalias Hippy Market. Famous for its eclectic mix of bohemian clothing, jewelry, and crafts. Enjoy live music and organic food stalls in a colorful, lively setting.
Mercat de Sant Josep. Ideal for fresh produce, local cheeses, and artisanal bread. Perfect for gathering picnic supplies or unique souvenirs.
Mercat Vell (Old Market). Offers a variety of fresh local fruits, vegetables, and traditional products in a historic setting.
𑁍 Local Tip 3: Sample Local Foods: Try traditional Ibicenco pastries like flaó (cheese cake) or ensaimadas (spiral-shaped pastries). Buy Handcrafted Souvenirs: Look for handmade jewellery, leather goods, and unique crafts that reflect Ibiza’s artistic spirit. Chat with Vendors: Engage with local artisans and farmers to learn about their products and the island’s traditions.

The best time to visit Ibiza depends on what you're looking for. Here's a breakdown:
Summer (mid June-August):
Peak Season: This is when Ibiza is at its liveliest with buzzing nightlife, vibrant beach parties, and a diverse crowd from around the world.
Warm Weather: Temperatures soar, and the island comes alive with music festivals, boat parties, and beach events.
Crowds: Expect larger crowds and higher prices, especially in July and August.
Spring (April-mid June) and Autumn (September-October):
My favorite time to visit Ibiza!
Shoulder Season: These months offer a balance between warm weather and fewer crowds.
Mild Temperatures: Perfect for exploring the island's natural beauty, hiking, and enjoying the beaches without the summer heat.
Still Vibrant: While not as busy as peak season, there are still plenty of events, especially in September during the closing parties.
Winter (November-March):
Off-Season: Ibiza becomes much quieter during the winter months, making it ideal for those seeking tranquility and relaxation.
Mild Weather: While it's not beach weather, Ibiza's winter temperatures remain relatively mild compared to much of Europe.
Local Culture: This is a great time to experience authentic local life, explore Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila without the crowds, and enjoy cozy cafes and restaurants.
Ultimately, the best time to visit Ibiza depends on your preferences. If you're into the party scene and vibrant atmosphere, summer is the time to go. For a more relaxed experience with fewer crowds, consider spring or autumn. And if you're seeking tranquility and a taste of local life, winter could be perfect for you.

Nightlife: Perhaps the most renowned aspect of Ibiza is its legendary nightlife. The island is home to some of the world's most iconic clubs, attracting top DJs and partygoers from all over the globe. From sunset beach parties to all-night raves, Ibiza's nightlife scene is unparalleled. However, I am not a fan of nightlife and still love Ibiza. There is so much more than this!
Beaches: Ibiza boasts stunning beaches with crystal-clear waters and soft sands. Whether you're looking for a lively beach club atmosphere or a secluded cove for relaxation, Ibiza will have it. It really has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean.
Electronic Music: Ibiza is considered the birthplace of electronic dance music (EDM) culture. Its clubs and festivals have been instrumental in shaping the global EDM scene, making it a mecca for music lovers and DJs alike.
Bohemian Culture: Beyond the parties, Ibiza has a rich bohemian culture. Its hippie roots are still evident in the island's laid-back vibe, eclectic shops, and vibrant arts scene.
Natural Beauty: The island's diverse landscape includes lush pine forests, dramatic cliffs, and picturesque countryside. Visitors can explore Ibiza's natural beauty through hiking, cycling, and boat trips.

We live in Madrid but we have an apartment in Puerto Portals, in the south west of the island, only 15 minutes away from Palma. As we are Spanish and live in Spain most of the year, we don't need an eSim here, but when we travel we always use this eSIM because it’s the cheapest and easiest option.
