I’m from Madrid, born and raised, and throughout my life I’ve traveled to Andalucía more times than I can count. Family holidays, long weekend escapes, summer trips, celebrations… it’s a region I return to again and again.

Many of my most special luxury stays there have been with my family, enjoying peaceful countryside retreats and slow mornings under the southern sun. I’ve also attended a beautiful wedding at Finca Cortesin, an unforgettable setting for such a special occasion, and visited La Donaira for a day and lunch, which was truly incredible.

Casa Viña de Alcántara, for example, feels less like a hotel and more like staying in someone’s beautiful historic home. It’s very special. It’s privately owned, incredibly well maintained, and you’re treated like a personal guest rather than just another booking.

  • For something more modern and design-focused, I’d look at ME Málaga or OKU Andalusia: both feel stylish, contemporary, and a bit more lifestyle-driven while still definitely fitting into the luxury hotels in Andalucía category.
  • And if you’re heading to Cabo de Gata in Almería, which I absolutely love for its raw nature, Cortijo La Loma Olivencia Natural is perfect: peaceful, authentic, surrounded by landscape, and just the kind of place where you properly switch off.

Andalusia, located in the southern part of Spain, enjoys a diverse climate that makes it a year-round destination, though the best time to visit depends on your preferences and what you wish to experience.

The best time of year to visit these beautiful luxury hotels in Andalucía for me is spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October), when the temperatures are warm but comfortable, the landscapes are at their most beautiful, and you can truly enjoy outdoor living without the intense summer heat.
