If it’s your first time in Reykjavík, stay downtown, everything’s within walking distance: cafés, shops, museums, and the famous Hallgrímskirkja church. It’s the most convenient area and full of energy, perfect if you like being in the middle of everything.

🌊 Vesturbær (West Reykjavík)
A quieter, more local neighborhood right by the sea. You’ll find lovely walking paths, ocean views, and the famous Vesturbæjarlaug swimming pool. a local favorite. It’s ideal if you want a peaceful base but still close enough to walk downtown.

🎨 Hlíðar & Hlemmur area
Trendy, artistic, and full of small design hotels and cozy apartments. Around Hlemmur you’ll find great food spots (the Hlemmur Mathöll food hall is a must!) and a younger, creative vibe.

🌅 Laugardalur
